How long of a massage should I schedule?

Massages are usually available in 30, 60, and 90 minute time lengths.

One of the benefits of having my own business is that I can make up something new if that’s what you want.  There’s no company policy on time that I have to follow.  Do you have a favorite number?  Do you want a massage in a prime number increment?  I have the flexibility to do that if you want.

Do you have a headache, stiff neck, back pain, or something that just needs relief?  You can come in for  a shorter time than 30 minutes.  Sometimes just 10 or 15 minutes can make a huge difference for you (and the people around you too).

Every time you come in, we will talk about what you need that day and I’ll adjust the appointment based on that conversation.

Here is what you can expect with each time selection.

30 minute massage

30 minutes is great to focus on one or two painful or problem areas.  I’ve worked on just a person’s neck or a back, or a combination depending on the situation that day.  Some people come in regularly for 30 minutes because it fits their time schedule and it gives them the pain relief and stress relief they need.

It does provide you enough time to relax.  It is not enough time for a full massage though.

60 minute massage

60 minutes is the time frame scheduled the most with me.  I’ll emphasize any problem areas as well as providing a full massage (head, neck, arms, legs, and back).  You will be deeply relaxed, your stress will be left in the room, your problems will have shrunk down to manageable size and your muscles will be ready to go again.  You will actually be able to turn your head to look around the room as well as have the ability to pick up something from the floor.

Some people request a good deal of time on one area and not spend as much on another, or skip it completely.   Some like only an upper body massage, and not work on the legs.  That’s fine – it’s your time to get what you need taken care of.

90 minute massage

A 90 minute massage allows extra time on a problem area without losing work anywhere else.  You can get 30 minutes on your neck or back, and still have 60 minutes left for a full massage.  If there’s not a problem area, it allows time to do a complete thorough massage.  The extra time makes a big difference for many people to thoroughly relax and back to feeling like themselves again.
