Do the (easy) math

Yes, I know that math is not a popular topic with a lot of people.  Some consider it a four-letter word, a semi-mystical realm, or somewhat terrifying.

When I was in school I got good grades in math but it wasn’t my favorite subject.  I explored becoming a teacher before I went to massage school and worked as a math tutor for a couple of years.  It makes so much more sense now.  I guess I like the logic and problem solving in it.

As I worked with the students, I tried to keep it as simple as I could.  I’ll do the same here.  Relax; you don’t even have to do any calculations.

I’ve noticed two numbers that have stood out in my work with massage.

Zero.  That is the number of my clients who have regretted getting a massage.  Nobody has walked out the door wishing they still had the stress or muscle pain they came in with.

100.  That is the percent of people who are glad they came in, and left feeling so much better.  I’ve never had a client leave unhappy – except that their time is up and they have to get off the table.  I talk to each person and address their problems on each visit.  Some issues can’t be solved in one visit, and some can’t be solved by massage at all, but we can make progress and help you feel better.

There, that’s it.  That wasn’t so bad now.  If it did stress you out, I have an idea on how to make it better.  It doesn’t even involve a story problem.
