What if you could spend twelve hours over the course of a year and feel really good? What if that time could help you feel better physically? The stiff neck, sore shoulders, aching back, or other pains may not be cured but feel much better. What if that time helped reduce your stress and you are more creative, productive, and a better version of yourself? What if your problems that seemed so big look much more manageable after?
Does that sound like a good trade-off? Does it sound like a good value for the time you are spending?
There are many things that we have to spend time on over a year. Some things we like, such as sleeping, eating, and having fun. Some things can be a chore, such as well, chores, working, and sitting in traffic.
With the exception of an emergency or crisis we have time that we can choose how to spend. How much time over a year do you spend on taking care of yourself?
Massage is a great part of your self-care strategy. You walk out feeling better physically. The knots in your muscles have been untied and you feel looser. Movement is easier and less painful. You feel better mentally with your stress lowered.
You plan a lot of things into your life, from work, vacation, family time, important activities, and fun. Plan some time for yourself.
Can you find twelve hours in this year to plan for massage? Most people can who make a commitment to feeling good. Decide to make a commitment and plan for it just like anything else that’s important to you. You are taking care of your body and your mind. Not much else is that important.
Twelve hours gives you a one hour massage a month. People who receive regular massage get better benefits than those who only come in when they have a lot of pain. They feel better longer and continue to make progress. They don’t go back to their original degree of discomfort but steadily receive relief. A regular massage always gives you something to look forward to. Even on a rough day or a day when you are in pain you know another massage is coming up soon.
If twelve hours a year is too much to ask then try six. In six hours you can get a one hour massage every two months or one 30 minute massage a month.
There are 8765 hours in a year. Leap years give you an extra 24. Use twelve hours of the year to feel great all year. This time next year you will be glad that you started now.
